I. Introduction

AIV Inc. currently has three active blog sections on the site: IV Pump News, Fetal Monitoring News, and Biomed Association News. Blog articles should generally be released according to this schedule:

Blog

Thursday

Biomed Association News

Wednesday

Take note: Do not schedule blog articles on Fridays. All articles should be published at 9AM EST.

All articles must FIRST be uploaded to: \http\:\/\/stg\.aiv\-inc\.com\/\\ where\ you\ will\ check\ for\ any\ display\ errors\.\ Once\ that\ is\ done\,\ only\ then\ can\ you\ schedule\ it\ for\ publishing\ on\ the\ live\ site\:\ \\http://aiv-inc.com/

II. Preparation

Jim Huggins or Laura Collier will be sending you blog publishing requests either via email or the AIV-CLIENT channel. Be sure to check this regularly. The documents they will send you will have the blog category indicated in the file name so you know which section to post the article to. They will also be sending the blog images for each respective articles. Once you receive this request, please acknowledge that you have received it right away.

A. Image Preparation

  1. Open up photoshop and import the chosen blog image. Ensure that it is 246x168 pixels and is 72 ppi.

  2. If the image is too small, resize it to fit the dimensions. Make sure the proportions are still constrained.

  3. If the Image is too big, crop it to fit the dimensions. Again, make sure the proportions are constrained.

  4. Add EXIF data by going to File > File Info

  5. Fill in the following fields

      • Document Title: Blog Article Name

      • Author: AIV Inc.

      • Description: The first paragraph of the article.

      • Keywords: Enter in the appropriate related keywords here (ex. IV Pump, IV pumps, Fetal Monitoring Transducers, etc.)
  6. Select OK once done

  7. Save the image as: PublishingDate-blog-title-with-no-spaces (ex. nov22-smiths-medicals-pharmguard-interoperability-software-now-fully-tested).

      • Keep in mind that image names should be in small caps

      • Don’t use special characters in image names

      • Replace any spaces with hyphens

B. Image Upload

  1. Once the image is prepared, open up any FTP program like FileZilla to upload it to both the live and dev site folders.

  2. Log in using the AIV FTP data found on the Password Manager tool on SCI’s ERP system. If you do not have access to it, please ask a dev team manager for assistance.

  3. For the staging site directory, go to: /public_html/development/images/blog

  4. Drag and drop your blog image into this folder.

  5. For the live site directory, go to: /public_html/images/blog

  6. Drag and drop your blog image into this folder.

C. Article Preparation

  1. You will need to convert the document to HTML.

  • Paragraphs should be wrapped in <p></p> tags

  • Links should be wrapped with <a href=””></a> tags.

  • The main blog image should use this tag:

<p><img src="images/blog/ENTER BLOG IMAGE NAME HERE.jpg" border="0" alt="ENTER BLOG TITLE HERE" style="float: left; padding: 0 10px 5px 0;" /></p>
